Super Model Aishwarya Rai Modelling Career

Miss Ash Rai as a model, blue/green-eyed, 5' 7" inches tall, became well known in India after appearing in a Pepsi commercial with Indian actor Aamir Khan. After that she appeared in few other commercials such as Palmolive, Philips, Casio pager and so forth. Ash started her professional career as a model in several prestigious advertising campaigns.
In 1991, she entered in the Ford Supermodel Contest at the age of seventeen. She won the Tulips Miss Super Vivacious prize. Ash Rai's photogenic face was spotted by famous photographer Steven Meisel and soon it was showed up in Vogue Magazine. Afterward she got demands from many film producers and made her first appearance in a film called 'Mamaguru'.

Aishwarya still wanted to continue her studies after all this modelling and focus on architecture but her carrier plans stopped right after entering for the Miss Femina World contest in 1994. She was 20 years of age that time and was crowned Miss World and was named Miss Catwalk. She was selected by the judges for having a photogenic face.
Subsequently, she entered into the famous Bollywood Film Industry. Several film offers included her big screen debut in the 1997 films, 'Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya', and 'Iruvar'. Although she had very little acting experience her modelling career held her in good stead as she won India's Screen Best Female Debut award. She even won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in 1999 for her performance in the movie, 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'.
